San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy has postponed scheduled elbow surgery. This happens after being told to do so by a doctor for further inflammation.
Purdy suffered an injury early in the 49ers playoff game against the Philadelphia Eagles, tore the ulnar collateral ligament (UCL) in his pitching arm.
The 23-year-old visited Dr. Keith Meister on Tuesday, who recommended delaying Purdy’s scheduled surgery due to ongoing inflammation.

They will reconvene in early March. All signs continue to point to UCL repairs that will set Purdy ready for the 2023 season.

Despite the delay in surgery, all signs point to Purdy’s UCL repairs being ready in time for the 2023 season, which starts in September.
Purdy burst into the 2022 season, ending a sensational rookie campaign with an injury and loss against the Eagles.
He had an undefeated 5–0 record with 13 touchdowns, just four interceptions, and a QB rating of 107.3 as a regular season starter. and led the 49ers to a playoff victory over the Cowboys.
Himself and Trey Lance are expected to compete for the starting quarterback job once the pair are both healthy following their injuries. will get a head start in his bid to be the starting quarterback.
