Manchester United youngster Alejandro Garnacho is one step away from agreeing a new deal to secure his long-term future at Old Trafford.
The Argentinian representative and United have been negotiating new terms for months, but it now appears that a breakthrough has been reached.
ESPN reports that only the final details remain until Garnacho can put pen to paper on the new deal.
ESPN said: “Manchester United’s Alejandro Garnacho has reached an agreement in principle to sign a new five-year contract pending some final details relating to image rights. A source told ESPN.
“Garnacho, 18, is out of contract in 2024, but sources say there is financial consensus for him to extend his stay at Old Trafford until 2028.”
“The new contract will see his salary adjusted according to his new status in Eric ten Hag’s squad due to the progress he has made since making his debut for the first team last April. will be.”
Perhaps as Garnacho’s importance and status within the team increase, so will his pay.
At 18, he is already a key member of Ten Hag’s first squad.

Garnacho has scored three goals in 27 games for the 20-time English champions.
