Rafael Benitez has claimed Darwin Nunez reminds him of Fernando Torres and how the Spaniard performed in his early days at Liverpool.
With the Reds scoring a big three points against Newcastle, the 62-year-old sees similarities between the Uruguayan and his former number nine.
“He’s a hard worker. He always runs and does the right thing,” Benitez told Sky Sports (via talkSPORT).

“I feel like you’re watching the game. As a manager, you’re really worried. He’s got the pace to do it and he’s running behind.
“As a manager, he’s someone you have to worry about and then he’ll be done.
“When Fernando Torres first came to Liverpool, he struggled to miss chances. He was a great player, but not a great finisher.
“We worked with him and eventually he became the Fernando we know.”
Nunez has received a lot of criticism since joining the club from Benfica in the summer, but we believe he is doing perfectly well.
The 23-year-old must be given time not only to try to adjust to life in the toughest league in the world, but also to learn how to speak English.
This season is just his third full season playing top-level football in Europe and so far he has made 28 appearances for Jürgen Klopp’s side, scoring 11 goals and 4 assists.
