Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has given some insight into Eric Ten Hug’s ruthless management and coaching style at Old Trafford.
Fernandes revealed in an interview with BT Sport’s Rio Ferdinand that Ten Hug’s harsh treatment of players extends to the likes of Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho and Cristiano Ronaldo.
It’s no secret that Ten Hag, 38, enjoyed a difficult relationship with Ronaldo before leaving Old Trafford.
When Ronaldo allowed Piers Morgan an explosive interview, he accused United bosses of disrespecting him.
Faced with a lack of attractive offers from European clubs, Ronaldo signed for Saudi Arabia’s Al Nasr.
Ferdinand asked about United playmaker ten Hag and how he leads the group.
Fernandez said to Ferdinand: He demands people – either you do it or you go out, you don’t play. . If a big player doesn’t do what he wants, will he pull him away?”
“And he did it, he did it many times. He did it with Cristiano, he did it with Jadon and Marcus. The manager pulled him out because he did something – and we thought, wow.
“Sometimes it should be. You know, you’re a parent. I’m a father too. Sometimes you have to make some rules at home. Go and you will become the owner of the house in a short period of time.
