Chelsea could spend around €80 million to sign 23-year-old forward

Chelsea have signed Joao Felix on loan from Atlético Madrid in the January transfer window.

The Blues need to bring in some offensive reinforcement, and Felix has proven to be a useful addition so far.

The 23-year-old has been impressed with his first performance and reports from Cadena Ser say the Blues could sign the player outright at the end of the season. A potential move, however, hinges on Diego his Simeone’s future at Atletico Madrid.

Felix has fallen out of favor under the Argentinian manager and is likely to leave the Spanish club for good if Simeone stays at Atletico Madrid beyond this season. If he does, Felix may return to his parent club.

Apparently, Chelsea are ready to pay big to sign the Portuguese international during the summer transfer window, with a fee of around €80 million being mentioned.

Atlético Madrid paid Felix €127m from Benfica in 2019 and hope to get most of it back if forced to sell him outright in the summer. A €10,000 offer is certainly an attractive proposition for a Spanish club facing financial difficulties.
