Odell Beckham Jr. looked like he was going to be a mainstay for the Giants after he set the league on fire to start his career. Beckham amassed at least 1,305 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns in each of his first three seasons and was also selected to the Pro Bowl in each of those seasons.
Yes, Beckham was becoming the Giants’ next star. However, the last five years of his career have been a bit more eventful. He dealt with injuries late in his Giants tenure and has played for his second and third teams the past three years.
Beckham still has talent. He just had bad luck. Things ended badly for him in New York and the same can be said for his time in Cleveland. Now, he has found his place in Los Angeles and seems to be resurrecting his career at 29 years old.

Odell Beckham Jr. has played for three different teams during his career. They are the Giants, Browns and Rams.
Beckham has spent most of his career to date with the Giants. He was drafted there in the first round of the 2014 NFL Draft and played five years there before being traded to the Browns. He lasted only two and a half seasons in Cleveland before being cut and joining the Rams for the second half of the 2021 NFL season and the 2022 NFL playoffs.
Odell Beckham Jr.’s career with the Giants
Beckham was selected by the Giants with the 12th pick in the 2014 NFL Draft. He missed the first four games of his rookie season before bursting onto the scene and becoming a rookie phenom.
During his rookie season, Beckham averaged an NFL-high 108.8 receiving yards per game en route to a season of 91 receptions, 1,305 yards, and 12 touchdowns. He punctuated his elite effort with a diving, one-handed, fingertip catch on “Sunday Night Football” that may well be one of the greatest catches in NFL history.
Beckham’s great game continued into his second year. He improved his numbers, catching 96 passes for 1,450 yards and 13 touchdowns. His 2,755 receiving yards during his first two seasons were the most by any player in his first two seasons until Justin Jefferson, a fellow LSU product, broke him late in the 2021 NFL season.
After another breakout year in 2016, Beckham was limited by a broken ankle in 2017. In 2018, he was on his way to another breakout year before a quad injury sidelined him for the final four games of the season. .
The Giants decided to walk away from Beckham after that season. In March 2019, he was traded, along with pass-rusher Olivier Vernon, for safety Jabrill Peppers, offensive guard Kevin Zeitler and first- and third-round picks in the 2019 NFL Draft. His 5,476 receiving yards rank second place in Giants history, trailing only Amani Toomer (9,497).

Odell Beckham Jr.’s Browns career
The Browns had high hopes for Beckham after trading him in 2019. He was paired with varsity teammate and close friend Jarvis Landry, and together they were supposed to make a formidable duo for Cleveland.
Things didn’t go as planned.
Beckham Jr. was solid during his first year with the Browns, as he had 1,035 receiving yards on 74 receptions. However, he never developed chemistry with Baker Mayfield and tore his ACL midway through the 2020 NFL season. As a result of those problems, his numbers plummeted with Cleveland, especially in terms of touchdowns generated.
Things came to a head with Beckham and the Browns during the 2021 NFL season when Beckham’s father called out Mayfield on social media. Eventually, Beckham, who was the subject of trade rumors, and the Browns chose to part ways. He was released and was able to choose his next destination.
Despite Beckham’s lack of involvement in Cleveland’s offense, the unit was far worse off without him, going 3-5 after he was waived on Nov. 8, 2021. The offense averaged just 15.6 points. per game after its release.

Odell Beckham Jr.’s Rams career
The Rams signed Beckham to a one-year contract three days after the Browns fired him. He was a hot commodity on the free-agent market, but the Rams ultimately won the OBJ lottery.
Since joining the Rams, Beckham has slowly but surely become the team’s No. 2 receiver alongside Cooper Kupp. He has helped replace Robert Woods, who suffered a torn ACL shortly after Beckham signed, and has produced at a high level for the Rams. In fact, he has almost as many touchdowns in nine games with the Rams, including the postseason, as he had in his entire tenure with the Browns.
Beckham will be a free agent after the season is over, but if the Rams want to keep him, they may be able to given how well he’s fit in there.
