Chelsea are nearing finalization of a deal to bring Independiente del Valle’s wonderkid Kendry Paez to Stamford Bridge.
The People’s Person reported that Paez was also on Manchester United’s radar, but Fabrizio Romano says the Blues are one step closer to completing a transfer.

Paez is set to become the latest Ecuadorian talent to arrive in the Premier League after Brighton’s Moises Caicedo.
The midfielder has been sidelined by his country’s U-20 side in the recently concluded CONMEBOL U-20 Championship, which Brazil won.
There has been commotion to integrate Paez into the first team and push him into action.
The youngster has been on the bench for Independiente del Valle in the team’s first two matches this season.
Paez could be the latest addition to Chelsea’s list of young stars to sign.
Other names on the list include Maro Gusto, Carney Chucuemeka, Andrei Santos, David Datro Fofana, Gabriel Slonina and Cesare Casadei.
In addition to Chelsea and United, Liverpool and Manchester City were also keeping an eye on Paes.
An attacking midfielder who mostly specializes in playmaking, Paez has been compared to Lionel Messi for how he plays and what he can do. It remains to be seen if he will live up to this high accolade.
