Liverpool have been given a boost for a potential transfer as Mason Mount and Chelsea have reportedly put contract talks on hold.
According to The Athletic, Mount has just over a year left on his current Chelsea contract and has turned down multiple offers to stay and commit his future to the Blues.
The England international was recently linked as Liverpool’s target in a Football Transfers report, and the Reds certainly need more quality in midfield after this very challenging season.
Mount hasn’t played his best for Chelsea this season, but he’s not the only one as the whole team looks far from the best under Graham Potter and there are plenty of new signings coming in. It’s been a tumultuous time for Stamford Bridge.
It could be a good time for Mount to try a new challenge, Fabrizio Romano told Catchoffside EXCLUSIVELY that the 24-year-old may think he’s a good fit for Liverpool.

“I think the best idea for Mason Mount and Chelsea is to continue together. He needs more confidence, but I think he’s a great player,” said Romano.
“He would be a great option for any club, including Liverpool, should contract talks fall apart. But I hope Chelsea and Mount find a way together.”
It remains to be seen if CFC and Mount can resume contract talks in the near future, but if you’re a fan of the West London giants and want to see this local talent, this doesn’t look like a particularly good sign. .Stayed.
Liverpool are no doubt keeping an eye on the situation as they hope to find replacements such as Jordan Henderson, James Milner and Thiago Alcantara in the long term.
