Dutch legend Marco van Basten has slammed Manchester United winger Anthony, claiming Mohammed Kudus is a much better and more complete footballer.
Kudus has been associated with United many times with reports suggesting Ten Hag is keen to implement a raid for his former club to secure the Ghanaian’s services.
In Ten Hag’s search to attack reinforcements, Kudus is considered a legitimate target.
The Ajax attacker has enjoyed a great season with the Dutch giants. In his 27 appearances this season, Kudus has scored an impressive 16 goals.
He also had a great individual World Cup campaign in Ghana, scoring two goals.
Speaking to Ziggo Sports, Van Basten praised Kudus for scoring another goal at the weekend. Van Basten has declared that he prefers the 22-year-old to United’s Anthony.
Van Basten says Kudus will be a significant upgrade for Anthony, who arrived at Old Trafford in the summer for a huge transfer fee of £86m.
“I think Mohammed Kudus is a much better footballer than Anthony. Anthony has his skills but I am confused by what he is trying to do! I have and I know what I’m doing.”
“Antony may be faster, but Kudus is smarter and more technical.”
Van Basten added: [Kudus] By far a footballer, he can be placed anywhere on the pitch and is the team’s all-rounder. In fact, I like him much more than Anthony. It’s more fun to watch him play.”
Despite scoring five goals in a solid debut season, Anthony has endured a lot of criticism.
The Brazilian is currently injured and has missed the last four games in all of United’s competitions.
