Marcus Rashford posted a worrying photo on social media just days before the Carabao Cup final against Newcastle United.
Yesterday’s Europa League match was a tough one for Ten Hug’s players as they beat the very resilient Barcelona at the top of LaLiga.
Top matches usually have players getting a few knocks and long injuries due to the intensity of the 90 minutes.
There were no apparent forced substitutions throughout the match, but that didn’t stop fans from worrying ahead of the all-important fixture period.
According to The Sun, Rashford posted a cryptic image on Instagram that has fans worried ahead of Sunday’s final.
He played 88 minutes in the 2-1 victory over Barça in a dramatic comeback, but endured heavy tackles throughout the match.
One such clash with Ronald Arauja stopping play while Rashford received treatment. Looking awkward at first, Rashford continued without any signs of injury until Eric ten Hug replaced him for Scott McTominay.
It would be a real loss for the forward and side who are currently in the shape of his life if he misses the final through injury.
He has already scored 24 goals in all competitions this season, which has just begun in February.
He also played only as a left winger under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, but this season he has improved in all three positions up front.
If he lacks full fitness, a tight turnaround from Thursday night will be difficult.
With the Red Devils beating Newcastle on Sunday for their first trophy since 2017, Ten Hag hopes everyone can step up.
United are the only team in Europe still in all four competitions they entered at the start of the season.
