Manchester United continued their impressive form yesterday as they went scoreless as they beat Leicester City by three goals at Old Trafford.
Once again Marcus Rashford was key to the win, with another performance in front of his home fans.
As reported by the Mail Online, Rashford has scored seven goals in his last seven games at the Theater of Dreams.
The forwards opened the scoring in a difficult first half for United before beating a spirited Leicester side with two attacks and doubling the lead just before the hour mark.
The goal came from two fine finishes after a ferocious run behind enemy defense that has been a hallmark of Rashford this season.
This impressive scoring record rivals Wayne Rooney’s record as he became the last player to score in seven consecutive games at home.
But Rashford will have to add three more to his tally to match the club record of 10 set by Cristiano Ronaldo.
Rashford is arguably the current Eric ten Hag mainstay, playing from either central or left flank.
The forward is currently one of the best form players in the world and has no plans to slow down anytime soon.
Speaking to Sky Sports after the game, Rashford said he hopes he can maintain his great form as the big game is intense and fast.
“We are fighting for different things and we have another big week. We are not slowing down and always want to improve,” he said.
Rashford and United are now at a critical stage in their campaigns and are on the verge of defining the game in all competitions.
Barcelona travel to Manchester for the Europa League knockout round decider, following the Carabao Cup final against Newcastle on Sunday.
Then there is the FA Cup fifth round at home to West Ham before the ever-important Premier League trip to Anfield.
Rashford will undoubtedly play a key role in United’s success during this period. This has the potential to be a special 2023 for players and clubs.
