The results of ESPN’s second NBA MVP Straw Poll have been announced, and Nikola Jokic is set to claim MVP honors for the third time in a row.
The Denver Nuggets big man will become only the fourth player in league history to win three consecutive MVPs, alongside:
Bill Russell Wilt Chamberlain Larry Bird
After 51 games, Jokic is averaging 24.7 points, 11.5 rebounds and 10.1 assists per night, making him likely to become just the third player in NBA history to average a triple-double all season.
Oscar Robertson and Russell Westbrook are the only players to ever do so, but the Serbian native is likely to carve his name as the greatest player in NBA history.

Who can stop Nikola Jokic from winning MVP for the third year in a row?
According to NBA betting sites, Jokic is the favorite (-200) to win the award. With Joel Embiid at a price of +400 he followed in second place and the two horse race is expected to unfold again.
Giannis Antetokounmpo (+600), Luka Doncic (+1100) and Jayson Tatum (+1200) are the remaining contenders, but with less than 25 games remaining by the end of the regular season, they will be unbelievable to beat Jokic. I need an incredible amount of stretching.
Denver set an NBA record 25 straight regular season games when Jokic dropped a double-double that previously belonged to the Los Angeles Lakers and Magic Johnson (24 games).
