Jamaican wonderkid Duphan Richards has arrived in England ahead of his trial period at Newcastle United which starts on 6 February.
The 17-year-old hails from the same Phoenix Academy as Aston Villa’s Leon Bailey and, if successful, could become the club’s latest teen sensation.
The trial will last for two weeks starting Monday, Feb. 6, and the 6ft 2? striker is expected to train alongside the U21, now led by Ben Dawson, after being appointed Thursday, according to The Talk of the Toon. increase.
Also known as ‘The Whisper’, Richards played for Kingston College and Phoenix Academy in Jamaica, most recently scoring 29 goals and providing 19 assists in the local boys’ tournament, the Manning Cup.
The highly regarded youngster arrived at Heathrow this morning ahead of his trial at the Magpies but will not join Newcastle United until next Monday.
