Predicted Man United XI vs Barcelona: Casemiro and Raphael Varane return – Man United News And Transfer News

Eric ten Hug has welcomed Casemiro to Manchester United’s squad for Thursday’s match against Barcelona at the Camp Nou.

One of United’s most influential players this season, the Brazilian has been suspended for three matches at home, but that’s not the case in Europe.

However, the two players in the opposite situation, Lisandro Martinez and Marcel Sabitzer, are both out of the match due to accumulated yellow cards in the Europa League group stage.

With Christian Eriksen and Donny van de Beek ruled out and Scott McTominay unlikely to win the fitness competition, a midfield partnership between Casemiro and Fred looks like Hobson’s managerial choice.

Defensively, Rafael Varane is likely to be recalled ahead of Harry Maguire due to his experience playing against the Spanish opposition, with Luke Shaw replacing Lisandro.

Tyrell Marasia will again be at left-back and Diogo Dalot at right-back.

David De Gea is an automatic goal picker.

In the forward position, a lot depends on Anthony performing well.

If so, he could play with Jadon Sancho on left wing, Bruno Fernandes on number 10 and Marcus Rashford on right wing up front.

With Anthony still injured, Sancho is likely to occupy the right wing slot, with Rashford on the left and Wout Weghorst up front.

Alejandro Garnacho is another option. Especially after scoring an impressive goal from the bench against Leeds on Sunday.

United are hoping to at least get a draw with Old Trafford, but with away goals no longer counting, a cautious approach is likely to be adopted.

Here is the expected line-up for kickoff at 17.45 GMT:
