FC Barcelona manager Xavi Hernandez has given his thoughts on facing Manchester United in the second leg of the Europa League play-off round at Old Trafford.
The first leg was tied at 2-2, which would be the decider.
Some might argue that United players are so good in Spain that they deserve to win.
The team, led by Erik ten Hag, showed purpose and character at the Camp Nou.
Xavi was very impressed with United’s performance and thanked Ten Hag for his work.
In his pre-match press conference, the Barça manager said:
“they [Man United] One of the best teams in Europe and it shows in the way they compete and play. ”
“The best Man United we’ve seen in years. That’s what Ten Hag has done.”
“They showed character and passion at the Camp Nou.”
Xavi has spoken out about the importance of Rafael Varane and Casemiro to United’s squad.
“I think both are really important. Passion and mentality, they’re used to this kind of game. These kind of experienced players make a difference in the team.”
